Sandals in the Redwoods

This week I taught geology at an outdoor education fair. I began all my elementary school lectures with a geology pun "Are you Ready to Rock!?" From there I also introduced kids to the other amazing puns in the rock world - "Gneiss" "Faults" etc. Older crowds heard about cleavage, boudinage, schist, and orogenic uplift. Meanwhile I wore my pink bedrock sandals through the mud that the trails offered. Here's some images below taken by the creek.

Notice the upwards bend in sole here. These vibram soles conform to your feet and eventually feel like a second skin. The webbing side loops here don't touch the ground because of this sole warp.
